Named by Becker’s ASC Review as “One of the Top 50 ASC Administrators to Know“ (2008, 2009 and 2010), Melody Mena began her career as an OR nurse and quickly rose to apply experience, passion and skill to the development of two successful medical staffing and consulting businesses. Following entrepreneurial excellence, Melody expanded the breadth of her surgical expertise and discovered her sweet spot with positions as turnaround consultant, ASC director and director of surgical services for a large regional healthcare system.
Melody’s clinical experience in the perioperative setting combined with a stellar success rate in ASC administration, development and management position her as the ideal “in the trenches” sherpa for clients ready to maximize center efficiencies, function and finance.
Melody is the co-author of the ASCA published "Finance and Accounting for ASCs". She is a nationally recognized speaker and expert on ASC turnaround, materials management, benchmarking and strategic planning, budgeting and capital planning management, supply chain, case costing, and EMR/EHR implementation. She has served on the editorial board of Outpatient Surgery Magazine and been published in a variety of healthcare publications, including OR Today, Same Day Surgery and the McMorrow Sustainable Facilities Management Report.
